This study was a descriptive study to identify mediating effects of resilience in a relationship between symptom experience and quality of life among hemodialysis patients. The data was collected from a total of 181 patients with end stage renal disease receiving hemodialysis for more than 3 months in a artificial kidney center, G-city. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS WIN 25.0 Program. Quality of life was negatively associated with symptom experience (r=-.53, p<.001) and positively associated with resilience (r=.71, p<.001). Resilience, symptom experience, admission experience related to hemodialysis, and educational level were identified as significant predictors on quality of life (¥â=.51, p<.001; ¥â=-.33, p<.001; ¥â=-.11, p=.037; ¥â=.15, p=.005, respectively). Further, resilience partially mediated the relationship between symptom experience and quality of life (Z=-4.15, p<.001). In conclusion, the study findings indicated that healthcare providers should pay more attention to decrease the disease related symptoms and increase the resilience to improve the quality of life of hemodialysis patients. In particular, an intervention improving resilience should be developed and provided to hemodialysis patients.
